I really like it when our favorite actress writes something herself =) Sometimes it’s just too uninspiring to read what other writers / interviewers write about Jessica Alba. And so today, I was one happy fan! Hehe! The pregnant actress blogged about her excitement with the coming of her first baby with Cash Warren. Jessica Alba blogged,
“The countdown has begun for the baby’s arrival…..Cash and I are beyond excited!!! Thanks to everyone for all your positive words of encouragement and support during my pregnancy. I really appreciate every note.”

The release of our favorite actress’ latest comedy film is nearing. According to reports, it will open in June — just stay tuned for more details! =) Anyway, when Jessica Alba was filming Love Guru, she was already in the first trimester of her pregnancy. Thus, the movie and her character (Jane Bullard, hockey team manager) was special to her. Here’s what Jessica Alba said about Jane:
“She was really about learning to love herself and not let other people affect the way that she thought about herself. And it’s a good life lesson I think for anybody not to allow people in the world to affect how you feel about yourself or what you’re going to do in life. It’s quite simple. But it’s a pretty powerful message.”
And to that, Jessica Alba added, that’s what she wants to instill in her unborn daughter Honor. And I think it’s a really good value to instill in her kid =)

The former is one of America’s most sought-after stand-up comic. The latter is a household name when it comes to comedy and parody. And Jessica Alba? Their leading ladies in their latest comedy films! So, how was it working with such “powerhouse” comedy stars such as Dane Cook and Mike Myers? Jessica Alba explains,
“With Dane it was a little less nerve racking because luckily I think it was his first movie he was starring in and my first comedy, so we were both figuring things out. But with Mike, he is a veteran, so I obviously wanted to hold my own and keep up with him.”

She was in her early pregnancy when our favorite actress filmed Love Guru with Mike Myers. And it was quite hard for Jessica Alba to do comedy that time coz she was also feeling the nasty pregnancy nausea and all. She shares, “In this, I had to think on my feet - I had to be on my toes. You have to have tons of energy no matter what time of the day it is.” Comedy is also different says Jessica Alba. Filming a funny scene over and over again will eventually make it unfunny, and thus much harder to project.

According to our favorite actress, she has turned down “slasher” movie roles before, but she considers The Eye to be several notches above that cynical, money-grabbing genre. Jessica Alba reveals, “It was the most interesting female role I’ve ever read. And it’s certainly not your average, typical horror movie. It’s more about a young woman who is faced with things that she really cannot explain, and who fears that she is losing her mind … A lot of horror movies have girls running away from a guy who is torturing them or kidnapping them. There’s always much more a victim stance when it comes to the female character and it usually involves crying and screaming.”

But first, let’s greet our favorite actress a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Yup, Jessica Alba just turned 27 today! =) Anyway (to continue), with the release of The Eye in non-US countries, interviews with the pregnant actress have been popping up left and right. Of course, most of Jessica Alba’s interviews focused on the supernatural and horror stuff. She related her first horror movie, and the scary movies she eventually loved. The 27-year old actress shared,
“One of the first movies I ever remember watching was Nightmare On Elm Street – I think I was about four and a half. It gave me nightmares until I was 13. My parents didn’t know, nor did they approve, obviously. I was a sneaky child, I hid behind the couch and watched the whole thing. Later that night, I insisted on sleeping in bed with them; if I was going to be sucked into the bed into some netherworld, I was going to be with them!”

..being a blind violinist in The Eye! According to our favorite actress, she really found it challenging learning to play a violin, a blind one at that. Jessica Alba shares, “First and foremost, I’m an actress, so if I’m playing a violinist no-one’s saying I have to be absolutely note-perfect all day long while we’re filming. Obviously you’re not going to pick up an instrument that complex in so short an amount of time. But I wanted to get it right. I couldn’t have the audience think that I wasn’t playing. I practised so much.”

Our favorite actress is just 26 years old (same age as me! yay!) but she’s already planned a long career ahead of her. And despite taking a short break after giving birth to her first child, I’m sure Jessica Alba will be back in the limelight in no time at all. And her star will surely shine til her own children will get married, hehe! =) According to Jessica Alba, “I kind of feel like I’m just starting. For me I think that most actresses that I really loved hit their stride in their 30s and 40s and I’m hoping that that will be the case with me, so you know, this is the beginning of my journey into this business…”

WOW! Wouldn’t that be exciting?? A husband and wife celebrity team-up! =) Of course nothing has been really set except that Jessica Alba recently shared that she would love to make movies with Cash Warren on the helm. Our favorite actress shared, “I wouldn’t mind doing something with Cash. He’s incredibly smart and very business-savvy. I think him being part of anything means it’s going to be progressive and successful.” Aww! Isn’t that sweet of Jessica Alba to say??

Most of our fave actress’ movies definitely show off her body — think Into The Blue, Sin City, Fantastic Four, etc. But if you noticed recently, Jessica Alba has been veering towards drama and supernatural — think The Eye, Awake, Meet Bill. If I may say so, it seems that she enjoys having more challenging roles =) And now that she’s going into motherhood, Jessica Alba’s days of being simply regarded as a pin-up are over. The pregnant actress explains, “I think just being older I’ll be able to play more mature roles. And being a mother definitely helps but yeah, I’m looking forward to my 30s.”
