Last night was the 80th Academy Awards (first) Scientific and Technical awards ceremony held at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The said ceremony night was to recognize the great work on particle flow simulation technology — stuff that makes water scenes in the movies look more realistic. And Jessica Alba, in all her pregnant glory, was the presenter of the awards. And 20 computer geeks were lucky enough to be near her!

And she looks absolutely stunning!!! If you’re a fanatic, go grab the March issue now! Inside the mag, Jessica Alba was interviewed about being a role model, on being bullied in school (poor girl), about working with Step Up Women’s Network (empowerment organization that help young females in the inner city to be successful), and on Hollywood’s perception of women. Here are some interview snippets with Jessica Alba:

On being a role model: “When I was a little girl, I always wanted someone to look up to. I think identity was a big deal to me because I didn’t fit in with one certain race. I always wanted someone who looked like me, who was a positive role model.”

On being bullied at school: “I had a lot of haters. They’d unzip my backpack so my books would fall out. They’d tie my shoes together. They’d ‘accidentally’ spill lunches on me.”

On Hollywood’s perception of women: “There’s a lot of pressure on women to fulfill certain fantasies. They expect you to be a little bit of a tart, to flirt with all the men. A lot of women do it. But I’m not doing that. I talk with these guys about their wives and kids right away. When they say inappropriate things, I let them, because boys will be boys, but I’m not looking to participate in their conversations.”

So, we’ll have an Alba-Warren Spanish-speaking nerd then?? LOL! Our favorite actress recently said that she will speak nothing but Spanish when her baby is born later this year coz she regretted not learning the language of her grandparents. Jessica Alba shared that her father (where she got the Spanish blood) only spoke English to her and her brother because he wanted them to become model Americans. And guess what? It took our favorite actress years to master basic Spanish which is supposedly inherent to her heritage. Anyway, Jessica Alba told Latina magazine, “I wish to God that my dad spoke Spanish to my brother and me, but he didn’t grow up with it.”

And so now it’s “payback” time with her first baby! The “Love Guru” actress is now committed to mastering Spanish so she can speak the language to her upcoming bundle of joy. Jessica Alba related, “Hopefully I can pick it up because I want my kids to speak Spanish. I don’t even want them to speak English for maybe the first two to three years, until pre-school. We’re in the United States so they’re going to learn it anyway.” LOL! The mom to-be also admitted that her inability to speak Spanish when she became a star didn’t go down well with fellow Latinos. She shared, “I got shunned (and) it made me feel really bad, like maybe I’m not (a Latino).”

Guess this is what pregnancy does to you. Many mothers have already attested that after giving birth, their only focus is their child. And Jessica Alba is not an exception. She recently revealed that once her baby with Cash Warren arrives, she’s looking forward to sharing more of her time with her child — and less of her time making movies. Jessica Alba said, “I have to believe that when you have a child and you have someone that needs you and needs your time, you kind of can’t be self-interested anymore and you have to consider that any time you spend away from your child is invaluable. And so I think I’ll just probably be a bit more choosy and not work for two years straight like I just did.” That’s a nice plan Jess but of course we fans will miss you a lot! Where should we get our daily “Jessica Alba” fix now?? Huhu!

It’s far from Halloween but our favorite pregnant actress is into ghost storytelling already! LOL! Is that in preparation for her baby who’ll be spending his/her first Halloween later this year? Hehe! =) Anyway, Jessica Alba shared in a recent interview that she was attacked by a ghost when she was still 17 years old. She said she was visited by an otherworldly being, and was so frightened afterwards that she refused to stay in that house again. Jessica Alba recalled, “I had no idea what it was. I felt this pressure and I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents’ room!” Cool! We’re always off to the parents when something scary happens to us, hehe! Jessica Alba continued, “There was definitely something in my parents’ old house I don’t know what it was. But they got it blessed since then.”

Man, that sucks! And this is not just gossip — our favorite actress admitted it to contactmusic.com herself. According to Jessica Alba, she kicked her baby daddy several times already. And she pinpoints her pregnancy as the cause. We all know what when a woman is preggers, her hormones are often whack — so expect lots of mood swings and all that crappy stuff. The husband, or boyfriend, must of course bear all that with a smile. Jessica Alba revealed, “I think I threw him out of the house twice already since I’ve been pregnant, and he’s like, ‘Are you just pregnant? I hope you’re just pregnant and acting crazy,’ and I’m like, ‘It has nothing to do with that’.” Yeah, sad huh?? But the good thing is, they just get back together after that. LOL! Jessica Alba further revealed, “And then we cry and we hug and he’s like, ‘You’re preggers, what do you want?’ Little things get me so mad… He calls five minutes later than he said he was going to. You get so emotional when you’re pregnant, and so irrational. It’s totally dumb.”

Yeah, we know, our favorite actress is really quirky and weird! Imagine, wanting her child to be a nerd — that’s almost equal to being a social outcast, lol! Jessica Alba recently interviewed by MovieHole.net revealed, ”I want my kid to be a nerd. I want him to be really, really smart. I want them to be in the band or orchestra. No, that’s a joke.” Hahaha! Jessica Alba really has a “sick” sense of humor! The poor child, lol! She further added, “I keep telling my fiance: ‘Our kid can’t be cool. It has to be a nerd.’ They’re so much more dynamic.”

As for seeing her child in show business, the mom to-be says, “If your child wants to be an actor, though, you kind of want to support them in whatever they want to do. But it’s not something I’m going to be pushing my kid to do at all. I think it’s important for your kids to find their own way and see what moves them.” Way to go Jessica Alba! We’re sure you’re really gonna be a great mom! =)

Man, celebrities are definitely a lucky bunch! They’re rich and when they guest on shows to promote their movies, the hosts gave them loads of stuff to boot! Jessica Alba, of course, is no exception to this gift-receiving part =) If you watched the Tyra Banks show recently, the former supermodel turned TV show host treated our favorite actress to a nursery makeover! Cool huh?? Jessica Alba told Tyra that she and Cash Warren had started preparing for the birth of their first child, and then after that, all the baby goodies came in! The look on “The Eye” actress’ face was priceless! She was definitely stunned with Tyra’s generosity, hehe! Jessica Alba was given a stroller, a pretty bassinette, high chair, blankets and numerous other baby accessories. The thrilled mother to-be excitedly shared, “This is the best stuff! This is where I’ve been going online and going ‘I want this, I want that!” And now you got it all Jess – and for FREE! =)
